Liability car insurance renewal begins in Hungary today

As this years renewal season begins, most Hungarian dailies are carrying an article today comparing prices of liability car insurance in 2008. Almost every company is raising tariffs and introducing reductions for different target groups and the consensus is that it is worthwhile shopping around and switching company. Contracts can be terminated by the end of November and new ones can be made before the last day of December.

Clients are told to expect unfathomable price charts and obscure proposals from companies as they try to attract them by any means necessary. Calculators can also be found on company websites to aid decision-making, while those signing a contract via the Internet can expect a discount at nine companies, writes origo.hu.

In related news, hirado.hu reports that online insurance portal netrisk.hu suffered a denial-of-service attack today that rendered the site too slow to use. The incident occurred after the portal posted new calculators for next year's car insurance premiums. A similar attack was reported last year when a hacker blocked the portal for several hours.
