Leak of Gyurcsány speech pinned on Socialist MP
A prominent Socialist MP leaked the speech delivered by Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány to the Socialist caucus in Balatonőszöd in May of 2006, thereby igniting the riots of last autumn, party MP József Karsai reportedly told right-wing weekly Magyar Demokrata. He said it was not a backbencher who leaked the speech to the media.
After the weekly was published, Karsai stepped back from his statement, saying he can only guess who had leaked the speech. Nevertheless, he confirmed that it was not an ordinary Socialist MP.
