A three-kilometer section of the Buda lower embankment will be reopened to traffic next month, reports vezess.hu. Drivers will be allowed to use the key artery between the Margit and Erzsébet Bridges heading in the southerly direction. The 1.2-kilometer section between the Petőfi and Erzsébet bridges is expected to be opened in January.

The roads have been closed due to the ongoing construction of a new sewer main, which began in spring. When completed, 95% of the sewage produced by the city will be routed to a central treatment plant in Csepel. Construction of the seven-kilometer main is expected to be finished by August 2009.
