Japanese royal couple tours Hungary
Japan's Prince Akishino, second son of Emperor Akihito, and his wife, who are on a visit in Hungary marking the anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries, visited sights in Budapest as well as in the provinces on Sunday.
The royal couple visited Budapest Zoo and saw the Hungarian Museum of Agriculture in the morning, before going on to Kecskemet in the south-east to see a cultural programme and to inaugurate a new sports hall dedicated to Japanese martial arts.
Kiskunhalas was the next leg in the programme, where Prince and Princess Akishino were shown the Museum of Laces.
On Monday, the high-ranking guests are scheduled to meet President Laszlo Solyom, Parliamentary Speaker Katalin Szili and Prime Minister Gordon Bajnai.
On Saturday, the prince and princess visited an exhibition of Japanese design in Budapest's Museum of Applied Arts.
