Infertility said to be growing problem for Hungarian couples
Some twenty percent of Hungarian couples are infertile, their number is growing by the day, but only a few of them turn to doctors, editor-in-chief of a new magazine focusing on the problem told reporters on Thursday.
Speaking at the launching ceremony of Bebistart, Andrea Bencsik said that infertility affects 400,000 men and women.
Only 15 percent of infertile couples consult with doctor, she said, as they are uneasy to talk about this taboo topic. Another reason she mentioned was insufficient information on where they can turn for help.
The new magazine's aim is to cover the issue extensively and advise on a number of ways of helping affected couples. It will also try to encourage them to visit medical centres and specialists.
