Hungary's state opera house to perform Haydn's Orpheus and Euridice
For the first time this season a revival of Sandor Zsoter's hugely successful Orpheus and Euridice is to be performed on Saturday by the Hungarian State Opera under the baton of its musical director Adam Fischer.
Acclaimed soprano Andrea Rost will take the title role of Euridice opposite the young tenor Szabolcs Brickner as Orpheus, said Judit Varkonyi, the opera house's spokeswoman.
