"House Speaker Katalin Szili has cancelled a visit to Slovakia scheduled for next week," her chief of staff György Kerényi announced on Wednesday. The cancellation is related to last week's decision by the Slovak parliament to confirm the 1945 Benes decrees, which ruled for the deportation of ethnic Hungarians and Germans from the then Czechoslovakia.

In another development, chairman of the Hungarian Coalition Party in Slovakia Pál Csáky has decided to sue Slovak National Party chairman Ján Slota, after the latter used deprecating terms against Csáky on Tuesday.
