Beginning yesterday, drivers in Hungary can lose their driver's license if they drink even a little, writes index.hu. According to the new traffic regulations, if the breathalyzer indicates that the driver has consumed alcohol, their driver's license is seized on the spot, regardless of the quantity of alcohol actually drunk.

This modification to traffic regulations, and the stricter point system was accepted during the last parliamentary session of 2007, as an attempt to decrease the number of accidents caused by drunk drivers. In 2006, nearly 2,300 accidents were caused by drunk drivers in Hungary, resulting in 154 deaths.
