Hungary spends Ft 3 billion on Olympic athletes
The state has spent Ft 3 billion on the preparations of Hungarian athletes for the Olympic Games, Socialist MP Zoltán Páva, chairman of Parliament's sports sub-committee, announced on Wednesday.
He said 58% of the state subsides, which he described as unprecedented in volume, was transferred to sports federations early this year.
However, Ft 430 million was transferred to the Hungarian Olympic Committee late, he said, adding that such anomalies are expected to be eliminated through a government decree in the future.
