Hungarians worried about possible violence on March 15
According to a recent poll by Medián, 70% of Hungarians think there will be violence in the streets on the March 15 holiday, and 12% have decided not to attend any events, though they have previously.
Most respondents (70%) did not attend March 15 commemorations in previous years and 13% said that they will attend events as in any other year.
Half of those polled think that peaceful people might become victims of violence, and 50% of respondents also expect police to stand up to illegal protests at least as firmly as in October. Most people said that the injuries were the fault of rioters.
Of people polled, 47% think that opposition party Fidesz's rally is not a good idea, and one-third think it is right. Of Fidesz supporters, 27% say the event should not be held.
