A Hungarian medical team saved the life of a five-year-old boy in Haiti on Tuesday.

The five team members were returning to their accommodation when a family asked for assistance as a local hospital told them they could not help the boy, who had suffered a serious skull injury.

The Hungarian doctors treated the boy and organised his transportation to a hospital.

A second, four-member health team from the Baptist Charity Service flew to the Dominican Republic on Tuesday to link up with eight members of the Rescue 24 team from North Carolina before proceeding to Haiti.
