Hungarian youth most tolerant social group
Hungary's 18-29 year-olds appear to be the most tolerant in their attitudes towards the Roma and persons with alcohol or drug problems, Ipsos, a pollster, told MTI on Wednesday.
People over the age of 60 gave the least favourable reactions in the survey, which gauged social responses to drug and alcohol use, immigration, smoking and the Roma population. The poll showed that intolerant responses were more frequent among people with a very low or very high level of education.
The majority of the population is not accepting in their attitudes towards these groups. The least tolerance was reported towards regular drug users, with two-thirds of adult respondents citing this as a problem. Alcohol users were the second least-tolerated group, according to the survey.
