Hungarian wins motorcycling world championships
Hungary's Gábor Talmácsi on Sunday won the world title in the 125cc motorcycle racing category. His second place finish in the Valencia Grand Prix behind rival Hector Faubel of Spain was enough to earn him the season championship. Talmácsi is the first Hungarian to win a world title in the sport.
Talmácsi, 26, first entered a world championship Grand Prix race in 2000 and has been a regular fixture at world championships since 2001.
István Újhelyi, state secretary at the Local Government and Regional Development Ministry, held what he called encouraging talks in Valencia at the weekend on Hungary hosting a motorcycle Grand Prix race in the future.
