The price of four-day, D1 category motorway passes were reduced from Ft 1,530 to Ft 1,170 as the summer season ended on October 1, reports vezess.hu. Motorcyclists can also buy the e-stickers for a lower price.

Prices are higher in summer, because traffic on motorways is busier in that season, which means higher operational costs and maintenance, state motorway manager ÁAK Zrt said. The company added that higher summer fees are also necessary for keeping the off-season prices lower.

D1 category e-stickers for motorcyclists are also sold for a lower price as of October 1 for Ft 585.

Between January 1 and September 28, a total of 8,081,225 four-day e-stickers were sold, 12% more than during the same period the previous year.
