Hungarian Lutheran Church to offer training for refugees
The Hungarian Lutheran Church has launched a nanny training program for refugee women, reports hirtv.hu.
The program, supported by the European Social Foundation, will run until the end of 2009, and costs nearly Ft 30 million (€125,487).
The participants are 15 Somali, Iraqi, Iranian, Nepali, Cuban and Togolese women who were selected from refugee camps. Some of them arrived in Hungary a few months ago, while others have already spent years living in the country.
The program begins with a Hungarian language course, followed by an accredited nanny training course. After their training the women will receive professional experience in church-run kindergartens, while volunteers will assist them in integrating and dealing with bureaucracy.
