Hungarian hardware to be tested on International Space Station
The International Space Station (ISS) will host experiments at the weekend to test a new advanced materials technology developed by a firm based in Miskolc, N Hungary, regional daily Eszak Magyarorszag said on Wednesday.
The foam casting hardware developed by Admatis Kft produces a metal foam composed of silicate nano particles dissolved in water for producing shaped metal forms, the paper said.
Admatis is the first Hungarian company to win the opportunity to carry out such an experiment.
The equipment will be transported on Sunday to the ISS by Progress-36 cargo space ship for the testing.
Improving the unique charasteristics of metal foaming structures could give an enormous boost to technological development and production, the paper said.
