Hungarian director Agnes Kocsis' film "Adrienn Pal" has won the International Film Critics Award (FIPRESCI) at this year's Cannes Film festival.

The jury selected the young director's film from 19 titles running in the prestigious festival's Un Certain Regard section.

"It was an easy job for us, since it is a very balanced, as well as touching film," said Alin Tasciyan, the head of the jury, presenting the award on Saturday.

Kocsis's second film is a story of an overweight hospital nurse discovering her identity when meeting her long-lost childhood friend Adrienne Pal again.
