Hungarian environment minister to test polluted river
Environment Minister Gábor Fodor visited the Rába to view the foam coming downstream from Austria and recommended a study of water quality by authorities from both Austria and Hungary.
"The solution is to filter the waste water from the Austrian tanneries," ministry chief of staff István Őri said. "The salt pollution from the geothermic power plant in Austria will only stop when it is closed in 2009," he added.
