Hungarian Ecumenical Charity to rebuild schools in Haiti
The Hungarian Ecumenical Charity will soon start rebuilding two schools in Haiti, the organisation said on Monday.
The charity said the schools, in Leogan and Darbonne, were both near the epicentre of the earthquake that hit Haiti in mid-January.
Many organisations have focused their rescue efforts on the capital Port-au-Prince, so the Hungarian Ecumenical Charity has chosen locations that are receiving less support.
The schools are currently operating in temporary tents until the permanent buildings are completed, press chief Daniel Fekete said.
The charity will also be involved in further school reconstruction projects, to be carried out in cooperation with international organisations, he added.
The Hungarian Ecumenical Charity is accepting donations to the Haiti school reconstruction projects and those who wish to join the efforts can find out the details by visiting www.segelyszervezet.hu online.
