A bus driver from south Hungary stole a bus from the company for which he worked and sold it on to a friend, local police told MTI on Monday.

Public transport company Kapos Volán reported the vehicle as missing last Thursday. Police identified the driver as the suspect within a couple of hours.

The bus was also discovered in a nearby village in the process of being disassembled, said a police spokesman.

The suspect confessed to the theft and told the police that he had sold the bus, estimated at 2.5 million forints (EUR 12,000), for half a million forints.
