Hungarian border police detain Turks, Iraqis at Romanian border
Border police detained nine Turkish and two Iraqi illegal immigrants in the town of Gyula near the Romanian border, a regional police spokesman told MTI on Sunday.
The border violators were hiding among the cargo of a truck driven by a Turkish national, which sought entry to Hungary early on Sunday, Gyula Kunos of the Bekes county police said.
During questioning the men admitted to have boarded the vehicle just on the Romanian side of the border, Kunos said, adding that legal proceedings would be carried out against them by the Romanian authorities.
