Hundreds of supporters gather in front of Israeli embassy in Budapest
Over 600 people staged a demonstration in solidarity with Israel outside that country's embassy in the Second District on Tuesday.
At the end of the rally, Péter Feldmájer, head of the Hungarian Jewish religious federation Mazsihisz, and executive director Gusztáv Zoltai presented a statement to Israeli ambassador Aliza Bin-Noun.
Bin-Noun told Népszabadság that the attitude of the Hungarian public to the Gaza conflict is balanced, saying people understand that the attack had been forced by Hamas on Israel, which had no choice but to strike back. Hungarians realise, she said, that the Hungarian government would not tolerate similar missile attacks.
