Health minister proposes bedside safes for hospitals
Health Minister Ágnes Horváth is issuing a decree obliging hospitals to install safes next to each hospital bed from mid-February.
The Ministry will transfer Ft 900 million to the National Health Insurance Fund (OEP) to fund the costs of installing the safes.
Horváth meanwhile told Népszabadság that the final goal is to establish a health insurance system operating with private capital.
Socialist health politician Mihály Kökény said this is the minister's own opinion and not a government position.
