Health minister grants subsidies for hospital downsizing
A total of 117 hospitals received subsidies to cover redundancies and bed reductions, the Health Ministry announced on Friday. A large proportion of the subsidies, Ft 3.2 billion, went to hospitals in the Budapest area.
Overall, Ft 3.6 billion was given for setting up a new bed-categorising system, Ft 3.2 billion for renovation and fixed capital investment, and Ft 675 million for redundancy payments. All those hospitals which applied on time and in an official manner gained overall, Health Minister Ágnes Horváth said.
