Half of Budapesters want to move away from the city
Half of Budapest residents would like a better home within the city, 25 to 30 percent would move to nearby bedroom communities, and 20 to 25 percent would choose a countryside town, FigyelőNet writes, based on a recent study conducted by Studio Metropolitana Kht.
Richárd Ongjert, director of the research center, said that the districts locals find most attractive are the 2nd, the 12th, the 11th, the 3rd and the 14th (Zugló), in that order.
The three most important factors when choosing a home are nearby greenery, quiet and the social composition of the neighborhood. Families with children are looking for homes near a school, kindergarten and medical clinics. The latter is very important to the elderly as well, who also consider good public transportation when pondering neighborhoods. Youngsters find the vicinity of small, 24-hour stores important. Price is an important factor as well, but according to the survey comes only after all of the above.
