Foreign police to patrol Hungarian Grand Prix
Altogether 27 foreign police officers will help their Hungarian colleagues maintain law order during the Formula One Hungarian Grand Prix event in Mogyoród this weekend, police told MTI on Monday.
Extra police will arrive from Austria, Croatia, Poland, Romania and Slovenia to help their compatriots solve their problems and find their way during the three-day event, Spokesperson Mónika Bényi said. She added, however, that they are not authorised to take coercive measures.
This will be the first occasion that Croatian and Slovenian police patrols participate in securing the event.
Altogether fifteen hundred policemen will be deployed to secure traffic and watch out for crimes during the race, to be held 20 kilometres east of Budapest.
