Flowers to replace cordon around Budapest parliament
The controversial cordons on Kossuth tér are being taken down and replaced with flower boxes, reports state news agency MTI. In a few weeks, the restricted area will be enlarged, but the cordons used to keep angry protesters away from the parliament building will be removed.
On February 8, house speaker Katalin Szili and Budapest mayor Gábor Demszky agree to hand over the square to the Parliament to allow a park to be built around the famous landmark.
