Five WWII bombs await defusal in Budapest
Bomb experts have began to remove and deactivate five bombs found at Budapest's North Railway Connecting Bridge on 15 November, writes fn.hu.
The bombs were found by workers of bridge construction company Hídépítő Rt. who were renewing the bridge. The bombs, 500 kilograms each, were relics from World War Two.
The renewal of the bridge, built in 1892 and reconstructed in 1954, will be completed in 2008. Until then, only lightweight trains can use it, as long as they do not exceed the 30km/h speed limit.
