Five border crossings open between Hungary and Austria
Five new minor border crossings open on Friday between Hungary and Austria, reports hirtv.hu.
These border crossings are open to tourists between April 1 and October 31 from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and between October and April from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. They can be used only by citizens of the European Union traveling by bicycle or on foot.
The border crossings opening on Friday morning are located at Sopron-Görgehalom - Sieggraben (Szikra), Sopron-Görgehalom - Sieggraben (Asztalfő), Sopronkövesd - Nikitsch (Füles), Nagycenk - Deutschkreutz (Sopronkeresztúr) and Sopron-Berennbergbánya - Ritzing (Récény).
There are now nine border crossings of this type between the two countries in Győr-Moson-Sopron County. The governments of Austria and Hungary agreed to establish them last year, when such crossings were opened at Fertőrákos - Szentmargitbánya (St. Margarethen), Ágfalva - Somfava (Schappendorf) and Harka - Sopronnyék (Netzkenmarkt). Last month, another was opened at Ágfalva - Lépesfalva (Loipersbach).
