Fire destroys warehouse in Budapest's District IX
A fire broke out at a 5,000-square-meter, five-story warehouse on Soroksári út (Budapest's District IX) late Wednesday night, reports MTI. Nobody was injured.
The building, formerly used as a slaughterhouse, resembles a labyrinth, and firefighters had difficulty finding staircases in the thick smoke, said Péter Molnár, spokesperson for the Budapest Fire Department. Firefighters used nine water jets and two aerial lifts to put out the fire. Early morning, they were performing posterior work when some points of the roof structure caught light again, the spokesperson said.
