Fifth District mayor wants MPs to pay for parking
Fifth District mayor Antal Rogán of Fidesz sent an open letter to Socialist Speaker Katalin Szili yesterday, asking her to use her personal influence to resolve the issue of car parking around the Office of MPs near Jászai Mari tér. Rogán wants MPs to pay for parking spaces around the building or to make them available to all vehicles.
Rogán rejected proposals from Emil Bakos, head of Parliament's finances, on lower parking fees or appropriation of the parking area as unacceptable.
Szili said she would have been happier if Rogán had turned to her personally, instead of writing an open letter.
Bakos said expressed confidence that an agreement can be reached with Rogán.
