Few disruptions as Budapest airport strike rolls on
All flights operated according to schedule at Budapest's international Ferihegy airport on Wednesday morning despite the ongoing strike of security and ground staff, a local MTI correspondent reported.
The trade unions and the management of the airport operator Budapest Airport held unsuccessful talks late on Tuesday and agreed to resume bargaining on Wednesday morning.
The unions are demanding a new collective bargaining agreement and the halt of a restructuring programme and further layoffs by the airport's owner, Germany's Hochtief.
Budapest Airport has employed 38 Greek security staff to maintain services during the strike.
Passengers have been able to arrive at and depart from the airport with no delay and their progress was virtually unhindered.
