Ferihegy passengers considered in the "clear" again
Beginning with Saturday, passengers departing from Budapest's Ferihegy airport will be considered "clear" again, writes hirado.hu, based on a report in Népszabadság.
The classification used in airport terminology refers to the security system of the airport. An EU audit revealed some shortcomings of security in the airport. For instance, more than ten thousand people were allowed access to the security zone of the airport, and only three instead of five guards were posted at each of the control gates. To solve these problems, the airport established a new security zone, to which only 700-800 people have access, and introduced new baggage inspection machines.
The change most apparent for passengers is that those who transfer in Frankfurt, Copenhagen and Munich will not be checked again and the beverages bought at Ferihegy will not be taken away from them.
