Fees on Hungary's motorways lowered from today
As the summer tourist season comes to an end, the price of four-day motorway stickers for cars is being lowered to Ft 1,170 from Ft 1,530 starting today, October 1.
Traffic on Hungary's motorways increases considerably during the summer months due to tourists visiting the country. The reason for the higher prices during these months is partially to offset the increased costs of operation and maintenance caused by higher use, and also to ensure that lower prices can be introduced once the high tourist season is over.
Lower prices apply to all methods of payment including the purchase of motorway usage permission through SMS.
