Ethiopian long-distance runners flee to Hungary
Three Ethiopian long-distance runners and a man from Sierra Leone fled to Hungary from Serbia on the weekend and applied for refugee status. The Ethiopians, 19, 20 and 22 years old, claimed that they are marathon runners who took part in a race in Podgorica.
They said they want to pursue their sport in Hungary, while the man from Sierra Leone said he had fled from the civil war in his homeland. The Ethiopians were carrying medals but not documents.
