Elevator at major Budapest railway station goes into service

The modern elevator connecting the platform of Nyugati pályaudvar (Western Railway Station) with the underpass below is now in operation.
MÁV sees the development as a contribution to equal opportunities, and expects considerable traffic in the elevator since several trains arrive to platforms close to it, and the WestEnd shopping centre is also nearby.
The elevator had been installed back in 1999, but MÁV have not put it into service until now, for unknown reasons.
