Economy minister promises 2,000 km of new bike paths
Nearly 2,000 km of cycling lanes will be built across Hungary in the next seven years, reducing the number of fatal cycling accidents by half, Economy and Transport Minister János Kóka and Environment Minister Miklós Persányi told reporters on Sunday.
More than Ft 60 billion will be allocated for upgrading the cycling infrastructure. That would help Hungary to win up to 5% of the European cyclist tourist market, and boost bicycle tourism in Hungary, Népszabadság writes.
