Drive-in hardware store opens in Hungary today
German DIY hardware store chain Bauhaus opens its first Hungarian store today in Dunakeszi.
To make the shopping easier, the new store has a drive-in system so customers can drive into a store area where a broad variety of wooden, landscaping and thermal insulating materials can be bought and put directly into, or onto, their vehicles. It is hoped the special services will improve the chances of the new chain in a saturated market.
The chain markets 120,000 products in 15 categories. The construction of the store cost €10 million, while the value of the stocks is €6 million. The company has already started the construction of a second store in Szigetszentmiklós on Csepel Island.
