Doctor visitation fee to be introduced in February
The introduction of a visitation fee (vizitdíj) for medical clinics has been postponed until the middle of February, reports nethirlap.hu. Meanwhile, four million people will be exempt from the fees, due to "social considerations."
The visitation fee will be payable starting from February 15, and will be Ft 300 (€1). Visits to doctors will be free for everyone under the age of 18, as well as for the homeless and for those who need long-term medical treatment, such as cancer patients.
Those on social welfare, such as the unemployed and women after childbirth, will receive Ft 300 (€1) extra in aid every month.
