Countryside spa offers visitors gold-plated treatments, literally
Hévíz's Hotel Európa Fit is offering new services - including face massage with gold, mud wraps and sound and light therapy - at its recently-opened medical and wellness section called Vitálium. According to lifestyle portal deuxe.hu, the hotel aims to target a younger clientele with the new treatments, which offer relaxation and prevention rather than healing.
Among the alternative medical therapies at the Vitálium are a so-called "California Bathtub" (Kalifornia kád) which provides a relaxing bath with vibrating, underwater massage. Another 20-minute therapy called "Europe Light Bath" offers a pleasant visual experience with underwater lights. Guests can also choose the music accompanying their baths. Another new treatment offered is a 25-minute mud wrap which uses mud from the thermal lake of Hévíz.
Among the new massages offered, the "Ayuvedic Harmony" therapy ends with a rejuvenating face massage using 24-carat gold flakes.
In November 2007, Hotel Európa Fit was granted "medical wellness" classification by the German Medical Wellness Association and the TÜV Rheinland Group.
