Costa Coffee to open first Budapest shops in December
London-based Costa Coffee will open its first two cafes in central Budapest this month, the business dailies Napi Gazdasag and Vilaggazdasag said on Tuesday.
Costa will open one of its cafes at the Oktogon, the company's marketing manager, Edina Charker told Napi Gazdasag. The average price of a regular 3dl coffee will be 550-600 forints (EUR 2.3) there, she added.
Costa plans to open its second outlet in the central shopping Vaci street, the company's director for Europe Judd Williams told Vilaggazdasag. Another ten shops are planned in Budapest and in major cities within five years, he added. He said Costa's main rival is US-owned Starbucks Coffee, which is expected to open its first outlet in Vaci street also in December.
