Canadian soldier injured in Budapest's District VIII

A Canadian peacekeeper returning from Afghanistan was wounded in an attempted robbery in Budapest' Eighth District late Tuesday night.

 

The victim told a police patrol that an unknown man attacked him and demanded cash as he and another soldier were walking along Csokonai utca around 1.30 a.m. Wednesday morning. he Canadian pushed aside the assailant, but the attacker slashed two tendons in his wrist with a knife. The soldier was treated in hospital.
