Calici virus epidemic spreads to Kaposvár
So far eight patients have been diagnosed with the Calici virus at the Kaposi Mór Kórház in Kaposvár (Somogy county), reports radio.hu.
Patients started arriving with the symptoms of the virus - diarrhea and vomiting - earlier in the week, but the virus was only detected in the middle of the week.
On Thursday, over ten additional patients arrived at the hospital, all adults.
According to Dr. Erzsébet Papp, the resident physician at the ward of contagious diseases at the hospital, the illness is mild, but could prove to be dangerous for the elderly and weak patients at the hospital.
