Cabinet cuts fireworks show budget
The cabinet will stage the annual fireworks display on the August 20 national holiday but on a more modest scale than usual, government spokeswoman Anna Nagy told reporters on Wednesday.
A recently established Facebook group, which has over 240,000 members after less than two weeks, suggests that the public funds for the fireworks display be spent on those afflicted by Hungary's recent floods.
