Bus-builder lays off 100
Bus manufacturer Kravtex has sent 100 of its workers on forced leave, because the Public Procurement Arbitration Court cancelled a state contract last Monday.
State-owned Autóbusz-Invest, owned by the privatisation agency ÁPV, commissioned buses from Kravtex for the state-run Volán bus services. The contract was cancelled following a challenge from Scania and Daewoo.
Győr-based Kravtex has 370 employees at its Mosonmagyaróvár factory. It has already purchased the components for the 115 buses to be made for Volán.
