Budapest tractor demonstration planned for next month
The Union of Hungarian Agricultural Organizations (Magosz) is to stage a demonstration at Kossuth tér and the Pest lower embankment between November 2 and 20, calling for the resignation of Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány, reports hirado.hu.
The union announced Tuesday morning their intention to demonstrate with up to a thousand vehicles in front of the Parliament as well as on the lower embankment between Lánchíd and Margit híd.
Details of the demonstration are still under discussion. According to Péter Gergényi, commissioner in chief at the Budapest Police Department, Kossuth tér will continue to be an operation area, off limits to protesters, in order to ensure the safety of the Parliament.
