Budapest NATO summit to bring airport traffic restrictions
Those wishing to leave Budapest by air or planning to arrive at its international airport between October 8 and 10 - the time of the upcoming conference of NATO defence ministers - should expect traffic restrictions both at Ferihegy International Airport and along the route connecting the facility with the city centre, Hungarian airways Malev and Budapest Airport told MTI in a statement on Monday.
The statement said that all 41 NATO delegations to the conference were scheduled to arrive at Ferihegy and the limited access road to the airport would be closed down intermittently.
Most participants are expected to arrive between the early evening hours and 2100 hours on October 8, as well as during the morning of the next day. Flight passengers are advised to leave for the airport at least an hour earlier than they would otherwise.
The delegations will leave Budapest from about 1200 hours on until the evening on October 10.
