Budapest man offers police officer €800 bribe
A 33-year-old man from Budapest attempted to bribe a patrol officer with several hundred thousand forints in Tiszafüred on Monday, reports mti.hu. The money was seized as evidence.
The man had driven his car into a ditch on Route 33, and turned out to be drunk, the spokesperson for the Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County Police said. While the vehicle was being pulled out from the ditch, the driver handed over a bag filled with money to an officer to "sort out the case." The officer seized the money, and the driver now faces charges of bribery in addition to drunk driving.
