Budapest in running to host Europe's answer to MIT
"Vienna, Wroclaw and Budapest will compete to host the European Technology Institute (ETI) and Budapest has a chance, because Hungary does not yet host any EU institutions, unlike Austria and Poland," Socialist MEP Edit Herczog said. The competition begins at the end of February.
The EU is planning that ETI will compete with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the US. "The future of Europe lies in high level research and development," EU Science Commissioner Jan Fiegel commented.
