Budapest district mayor continues fight against festival
Fourth District mayor Tamás Derce has approached an unspecified court to ban loud music after 10 p.m. at the annual Sziget music festival in August. Derce told reporters on Tuesday that the evening shows are too noisy and exceed the noise levels permitted for leisure activity. He said he has no plans to try to terminate the festival.
Budapest mayor Gábor Demszky said in a statement that he is asking Derce to desist from a lawsuit and try to settle controversial issues at the negotiating table, as the Third District did in the past.
